OnePlus Nord CE 5G full Review: A Brilliant Budget Smartphone Better than you think

The first Nord OnePlus launched last July as the most affordable smartphone offering in the OnePlus lineup. It was OnePlus' best-selling smartphone to offer 5G for under Rs. 30,000. OnePlus has now launched the new OnePlus Nord CE 5G, with bold look and I loved its compromise of performance and price. 

OnePlus Nord CE 5G design

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G is looking awesome. It has a 6.43-inch display with a front camera hole in the top left corner and it resists fingerprints quite well. The Nord CE 5G keeps the phone slim at 7.9mm in thickness, and it weighs 170g. The OnePlus SIM tray is on the left side that can take in two Nano-SIMs but there's no microSD card slot. The OnePlus Nord CE 5G does have a 3.5mm headphone jack. It's at the bottom along with the USB Type-C port and loudspeaker. The OnePlus Nord CE 5G has a 4,500mAh battery with 30W fast charging.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G has a triple camera setup with AI detect technology, the main camera has a 64-megapixel primary camera with an OmniVision sensor, f/1.79 aperture, and EIS; an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 119-degree field of view; and a 2-megapixel black and white camera. It has a 16-megapixel front camera with an f/2.45 aperture for selfies.

Video recording tops out at 4k 30fps for the primary camera and 1080p 60fps for the selfie shooter. The footage was well stabilized at 1080p as well as 4K in daylight.

OnePlus Nord CE 5G price in India

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G price starts at Rs. 22,999 for the base variant which has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The mid-spec variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at Rs. 24,999, while the top variant with 12GB RAM, 256GB storage is priced at Rs. 27,999.

All three variants are available in the dark Charcoal Ink finish. The 8GB variant is also available in a Blue Void colour. If you choose the 12GB RAM version, you can choose between these two as well as an exclusive Silver Ray option. I have the top-spec variant in Blue Void for this review.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G has a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with full-HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It has an in-display fingerprint scanner and Asahi Dragontrail glass for protection. Powering the OnePlus Nord CE 5G is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor. You get 6GB of RAM on the base variant. The mid-spec variant with 8GB RAM and the top variant has 12GB of RAM.

The Nord CE 5G has only two storage options, 128GB and 256GB. This smartphone has support for Bluetooth 5.1, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, and satellite navigation systems. There is support for dual 4G VoLTE, as well as 5G connectivity.
