The departure point is old Manali, Manali, Himachal Pradesh at 9 am. The return would be from Upper Tukcha Road, Leh.

 

 

Travel itinerary of Prune’s tour package

 

Day 1: The journey begins from Manali to Marhi, a small settlement between Manali and Rohtang La on the Manali-Leh highway. You have to ride your way through winding roads on your bicycle to Marhi and spend the night in a tent. Lunch and dinner will be available. 

 

Day 2: On the second day of cycling, you ride from Marhi to Tandi by crossing Rohtang pass. Here, you will get to enjoy the beautiful view of mountain peaks and glaciers. Then you leave for Khoksar and camp near the Bhaga river. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be available.

 

Day 3: The third day is about cycling from Tandi to Patseo. As you continue your ride, the area starts to get more deserted. You will find the last market on this day of the tour. From then on, it’s only sprawling landscape and uneven roads. You will finally camp at Patseo for the night.

 

Day 4: You will ride through the second pass Baralacha La on this day. The route to be covered is Patseo to Sarchu. The roads are not too steep, and initially, they are paved for you to ride on them with ease. You can witness views of the landscape as you make your way to Sarchu through a rough path. 

Day 5: You can take a rest on this day, and enjoy the beauty of nature around you. If you’re into photography, you can use the day to click pictures of the scenic location. 

 

Day 6: The route covered today would be from Sarchu to Whisky Nallah. It is relatively an easy ride until you reach Gata Loops. The roads start to curve from here. While on the way to Whisky Nallah, you might get a chance to witness a Himalayan blue sheep. 

 

Day 7: On this day, you ride from Whisky Nallah to Lake Tsokar. You will begin your journey to the second highest pass, which is Lachalung La. The climb could be challenging because of the uneven roads, but it’s just a short distance to cover. While the road may not be easy to ride on, you will come across spectacular landscapes that will make it worth it. You can take a short break in Pang before heading onto the flat mountain desert Debring. From here, you will cover the short distance of 3km to salt lake Tsokar to camp for the night. 

 

Day 8: This will be the most challenging day of the trip as you cover the route from Lake Tsokar to Rumpste. There’s an unpaved road in this 26km stretch of Tanglang La pass. Finally, you will get to ride on a smoother paved road after you cover that part of the journey from the pass. You’ll reach a small village after days which is called Rumtse. Here, you can explore the monasteries and Buddhist settlements. 

 

Day 9: The last leg of this tour would be Rumptse to Leh. You will ride down on a hilly road through beautiful landscapes till police checkpoint Upshi. After that, you can follow the river Indus to Leh. You will witness the mountains in all their glory. On the way, you will come across famous monasteries and villages you can take your time to explore before you continue your journey. Finally, you will reach your destination of Leh. It is a journey you’ll never forget.
