Reliance Jio raises the price of prepaid plans with Disney+ Hotstar: Prune

It’s been a season of price hikes, with top telecom companies of India increasing their prepaid plan tariffs. After Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi), Jio was the third big name to join the club last week and increase the mobile recharge plan tariffs. And now, Jio has also revised the prices of its five plans with Disney+ Hotstar subscriptions introduced in August this year.

Now, as a prepaid user, you have to pay for a Jio plan with Disney+ Hotstar as low as Rs 601 a month, from its previous price of Rs 499. The minimum price plan of Rs 601 includes a Disney+ Hotstar Mobile subscription for a year, 3GB data per day for 28 days, unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, and 6GB additional data. So, the benefits offered are more or less the same as the previous Rs 499 prepaid plan. But you will be paying 20 percent more than before after the price revision.

The most top-of-the-line prepaid plan will set you back with Rs 3119 applicable for 365 days. In this, you will get 2GB of high-speed data per day along with 10GB of additional data. And you will also get free 100 SMS per day and unlimited voice calls. And there’s another plan for Rs 799 applicable for 56 days with 2GB of data per day, unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMS a day.

In these plans, you will get one-year membership of Hotstar+ Disney that will give you access to live sports, shows, and movies. But it will not be an ad-free experience, and you can use it from your mobile phone only. Apart from this membership, you will also get free access to Reliance Jio’s apps such as JioSecurity, JioTV, JioCloud, and JioCinema like its other prepaid mobile recharge plans.
