iPhone SE 5G 2022 vs. iPhone SE 2020: Here are the key differences between the two - Prune

The Apple Spring Event of the year finally took place, and the company launched all-new devices. From a powerful computer Mac Studio to an iPad Air 5, many swanky new products were announced during the event.

And one of the highlights of the 'Peek Performance' event was an updated iPhone SE 5G which is the company's new affordable device.

But how is the latest iPhone SE 5G different from its older 2020 version? Let's look into the key differences between the two handsets! Read on.

Design and display

There are no noticeable differences between the new iPhone SE 5G and iPhone SE 2020 when it comes to their design. The new handset looks dated with a smaller display and a standalone rear camera. It has a similar aluminium and glass finishing with slight changes. However, the glass used is more durable, and the iPhone SE 5G has an iP67 dust and water resistance rating.

Like the previous model, the iPhone SE has a 4.7-inch display with 1334 x 750 pixels resolution. The colour options also remain the same. The previous model has three colour options - white, black, and red. The iPhone SE 3 also comes in colours, such as white, black, and product red.

Processor

There are more upgrades in the internal hardware. The iPhone SE 2022 comes packed with a faster and more powerful A15 Bionic chip that features in the high-end iPhone 13 series. It makes the new 5G-compatible handset an attractive option over the older iPhone SE with an A13 chip. So you can enjoy better graphics for gaming and watching videos and seamless performance overall with the latest model.

Camera

The new iPhone SE comes with a single 12MP camera at the back, just like the older iPhone SE. It sports another 7MP camera for selfies and video calls on the front. However, with the A15 chipset, the device gives stunning results despite a single-camera setup. Because of the A15 Bionic chipset, the iPhone SE 2022 has advanced camera features such as Photographic Styles, Deep Fusion, and Smart HDR 4. So the images come out well-detailed and vibrant compared to the older iPhone SE.

Battery

The iPhone SE 2022 sees improvements in battery life as well. While Apple hasn't revealed many details about its capacity, there are reports that the handset has up to 15 hours of battery life, two hours more than the iPhone SE 2020. The phone only comes with a USB-C cable, so you need a 20W charger for battery efficiency. The iPhone SE 2020 comes bundled with a 5W charger.

Price

The price of the iPhone SE 5G 2022 starts from Rs 43,900 for the 64GB variant. It's slightly more than the launch price of the older iPhone SE 2020, which was Rs 42,500. However, now you can get it for Rs 29,999.
