When planning your Norway adventure, ensure your Indian passport is not just valid, but super valid, yaani! The Schengen rules dictate that your passport must be valid for at least three months beyond your intended date of departure from the Schengen area. For example, if you plan to leave Norway on December 1st, your passport should be valid until at least March 1st of the following year.

Since Indian citizens require a Schengen visa to enter Norway, ETIAS will not apply to you. So, 'filhaal', no extra authorization needed apart from your visa!

You will continue to follow the existing Schengen visa application process. There's no separate ETIAS application for Indian passport holders. This means one less thing to worry about, and you can focus on getting your Schengen visa in order. No 'tension nahi' about ETIAS for now.

Many Indian travelers often search for an 'eVisa' option for European destinations. However, for Norway and the broader Schengen Area, there isn't a direct eVisa system for Indian citizens where everything is done purely online and you receive an electronic visa without any physical interaction. It's not like that 'click-and-get' system we see for some other countries.

While the initial application form is typically filled out online on the UDI portal, you are still required to submit physical documents, provide biometric data (fingerprints and photo), and attend an appointment at a VFS Global application center in India.
