Good news for all our Indian travelers heading to Kenya! As of January 2024, Kenya has officially abolished the visa requirement for all nationalities. So, no more visa hassles, but dhyaan rakhna, you still need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before you travel. This is a mandatory pre-screening process for entry.

The ETA is essentially your green light to enter Kenya, replacing the traditional visa system. It's an online application, so you can sort it out from the comfort of your home. Once approved, it's typically valid for a single entry and allows for a stay of up to 90 days.

Your Indian passport needs to be pakka valid for your Kenyan adventure. The general rule is that your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended date of departure from Kenya. So, if you plan to leave Kenya on, say, December 31st, 2024, your passport should be valid until at least June 30th, 2025.

On top of that, make sure your passport has at least two blank pages. These are needed for the immigration officers to stamp your entry and exit. It's a small detail, but a very zaroori one to ensure a smooth journey without any hiccups at the airport.

Even if you're just passing through Kenya on your way to another destination, the new rules are pretty clear. The official stance is that all foreign visitors, including those in transit, must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) prior to their arrival. So, if your itinerary involves a layover in Kenya, pehle se plan kar lo and get your ETA.
