Indian citizens absolutely need a tourist visa to enter Peru. This isn't a 'chalta hai' situation where you can just waltz in; a visa is 'pakka' required for your Peruvian adventure. You cannot obtain a visa on arrival.

You'll need to apply at the Embassy of Peru in New Delhi or the Consulate General in Mumbai. Be prepared with your passport, application form, photos, confirmed flight and hotel bookings, and proof of sufficient funds. Getting all your documents in order beforehand will save you a lot of 'panga' later!

Your Indian passport must be valid for at least six (6) months beyond your intended departure date from Peru. This isn't just a suggestion, it's a crucial requirement, so no 'chalta hai' attitude here!

However, if your itinerary involves a longer layover, changing airports, or if you need to clear immigration for any reason (like collecting checked baggage and re-checking it), then you would need a full tourist visa. Don't try any 'jugaad' here; confirm with your airline and the Peruvian Embassy beforehand to avoid any travel 'panga'.

Good news, 'yaar'! As of now, Indian citizens traveling to Peru do not need any separate electronic travel authorization (ETA) or pre-arrival registration beyond obtaining their regular tourist visa and holding a valid passport. No extra 'jhama' to worry about here.

This means once you have your visa sorted and your passport is in order, you're good to go. There isn't an additional online system or portal you need to navigate for a specific travel authorization, making one less 'hassle' for your travel preparations.

Unfortunately, for Indian citizens, Peru does not currently offer an eVisa facility. So, if you were hoping for a quick online 'jugaad' to get your visa, that's not an option for Peru right now.
