Now Reliance Jio takes its turn by hiking prepaid plan prices by up to 21% - Prune
After Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel's decision to increase prices of their prepaid plans recently, Reliance Jio has decided to follow suit. Jio has hiked prices by up to 21 percent on Sunday, and the revised tariffs will be applicable from December 1 onwards. The lowest JioPhone plan will now cost you Rs 91 for 28 days, from its earlier price of Rs 75. And the most top-of-the-line prepaid plan will now cost you Rs 2879, from the previous price of Rs 2399.
Reliance Jio is the third telecom provider, after Airtel and Vi, to make this announcement about price hikes. And these companies share the same goal, which is to improve the financial conditions of the telecom industry and to invest in future projects to provide the best quality services to their customers. You can also expect future investments to include the much-awaited 5G, which is yet to come to India.
Here is the official statement made by Jio on November 28 “In line with its commitment to further strengthen a sustainable telecom industry, where every Indian is empowered with a truly digital life, Jio today announced its new unlimited plans.”
Despite the reasonable price hike, the prepaid plans by Reliance Jio offer similar benefits and additional freebies for you to enjoy. These include unlimited voice calls, data usage per day, and daily SMS benefit. Many plans by Jio also offer free access to their apps, such as JioTV, JioCinema, and JioCloud. And the plans also give subscriptions to Disney Plus Hotstar Mobile for a year.
