Microsoft Surface Event 2021: Here’s everything you need to know about the swanky new lineup


 

After just a few days of a top-notch Apple event, Microsoft finally held its much-anticipated Surface Hardware event on September 22. Along with rolling out the carpet for the upcoming Windows 11 release next month, the virtual event announced a refreshing twist to the Surface Pro and Surface Go devices which we’re flipping over! Surface Duo 2

 

After a lacklustre response to the first foldable Surface Duo last year, the company is back with a bang with its updated successor. The Surface Duo 2 has been announced with an upgrade in the recent event. The most striking upgrade feature is its triple camera setup on the rear end, which includes a standard wide-angle lens, telephoto lens, and an ultrawide system. It is a major update from the previous model, which had a single camera above the screen. The new camera features come with optical image stabilization and 12-megapixel resolution. 

 

This 5G-compatible and foldable android phone now boasts a bigger screen and an ambient display that will allow you to check notifications even when it’s closed. Surface Pro 8

 

The Surface Pro line-up has finally got massive upgrades this year. This new tablet includes a 13-inch display with a refresh rate of 120Hz screen that is larger and brighter than its predecessor. And just like Surface Laptop Studio, it is compatible with Slim Pen 2 and a keyboard for your creative projects. However, you need to purchase the two accessories separately to enjoy the full experience of working on them. 

 

Microsoft claims that it is faster and smarter than the previous Pro variant and has faster graphics with an 11h-generation Intel Core i5 Processor behind its overall performance. It will approximately cost you Rs 81,100. 

 

Surface Go 3

 

When it comes to the Surface Go 3, it is physically more or less the same like its last year’s version. It features a 10.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920x1280, a 5MP selfie camera, and an 8MP camera on the back. But there are some internal upgrades you can look into. There’s better battery life, and you can choose between a dual-core Intel Pentium Gold 6500Y processor or a 10th-generation Intel Core i3 processor to power up your device. 

 

If you want to use it as a laptop, you will need to purchase the keyboard as an additional accessory. And just like the other new devices launched in this event, Surface Go 3 will also feature Windows 11. It will also sport an elegant platinum colour. 

 

Accessories

 

To experience the new line-up of Microsoft Surface devices fully, the company has also launched exciting accessories to accompany them. It has added the new Surface Slim Pen 2 that will complement well with newly-released Surface laptops. But the standout device accessory is the mouse. It is built in an environmental-friendly manner using abandoned plastic waste from the ocean and is packed using fully recyclable materials. It sets a great example for all the tech companies to make their gadgets ecologically.
