The five most costly nations for mobile data, according to the ranking, are Yemen, Tokelau, So Tome and Principe, the Falkland Islands, and Saint Helena. Two of the five are in the Sub-Saharan African region, while two of the five are island nations. Additionally, with an average cost of $4.47, this is the second most expensive of the 13 global regions (roughly Rs. 400).

The list also includes a few surprising facts about nations. US and UK are not at the top of the list. In the US, the average cost per gigabyte is $5.62, while in the UK, it is $0.79. The US is 202nd, with the UK coming in at position 78.

According to reports, the researchers have connected the cost disparity to four primary country archetypes: excellent infrastructure, heavy dependency, low consumption, and a wealthy economy.

The nations with the best infrastructure and those that rely on foreign aid are generally the least expensive. Conversely, the most expensive nations typically have poor infrastructure and low levels of consumption.
