There are many rumors and speculation doing rounds about the upcoming models, and the tech experts at Prune have compiled some of the latest details that have surfaced. Is iPhone 14 the best one in the iPhone lineup so far?
Apple is working on its next Spring event, which might take place in March or April this year. And there's news that we will get to see the debut of iPad Air 5 and third-generation iPhone SE. These will run on the new A15 processor. And this latest Apple news has also started rumors about the next iPhone 14 series with an A16 chipset.
The rumors and speculations around the upcoming lineup hint at a major redesign. It includes a punch-hole camera on the front and hardware upgrades. And this has to us thinking, will the next lineup manage to be the most exciting one among the existing iPhone lineups in recent times? We would like to believe that, as its potential details which are in the talks on the internet have grabbed our attention.
Speaking about the overall design, the upcoming iPhone 14 series is likely to include four models and might feature a standout makeover with an all-glass design. Some leaks suggest that the iPhone 14 could have a single-centered punch-hole camera on the front instead of its notch design in the previous models since 2017. It could free up a lot of space for the display to show extra information. The front part of the smartphones might also come with OLED display panels. And the rear part could have a thicker glass finish that is flat instead of the raised camera bump.
The Pro model could have a display with a 120Hz refresh rate, but there's no hint about the refresh rates of other variants. We might also get to see a 48-megapixel primary camera instead of the usual 12-megapixel camera we have seen for many years, and this would be a huge upgrade in the history of iPhones. And the higher resolution primary camera is likely to come with 8K video recording and Face-ID technology.
If the news floating on the internet is correct, Apple will discontinue iPhone Mini and will go with making full-size smartphones. So, we can expect iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max to launch as the lineup this year.
When it comes to storage, Apple introduced a whopping 1TB capacity for iPhone 13 series. And it's likely to level up with a 2TB storage capacity for the iPhone 14 Pro. The Pro devices will also see an increase in RAM. Other speculations are that the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro might have a 6.1-inch display. And the iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max might have a 6.7-inch display panel.
Apple will also roll out another exciting and latest feature. The Apple iPhones will finally accept credit cards without using extra hardware. The tech giant will bring in this feature using a software update in the devices, the first beta version of iOS 15.4 in the next few months. This new service will help small businesses to accept payments directly on their iOS devices. With a quick tap of a credit card or another iPhone, the retailers can accept the payment in seconds.
This feature has been in the works since 2020 and will likely use the iPhone's Near Field Communications (NFC) for the quick payment process.
Apple iPhone 14 series: Price and launch date
The iPhone 14 is likely to be priced at Rs 60000 in India, while the Pro and Pro models could cost about Rs 82000. The four models from the iPhone 14 lineup could release in Apple's annual fall event. It would be sometime in September, just like the previous launch events.
